Past progressive (definition= 3)



Past progressive (definition= 3):
We use it when a shorter past action (past simple) come in the middle of a longer past action (past Progressive)
  • They were taking dinner when a stranger knocked the door.
  • I was driving a car fast when the police stopped me.
  • While children were playing their mother called them.
